Developers can leverage proven frameworks and compile code in various languages, like Rust & Go with the potential future addition of C and C++.

excuse me -- smart contracts in imperative domain programming languages? and... C of all things?

the whole reason E, Goblins, etc are DSLs is because smart contracts have very specific safety requirements that normal languages aren't really designed around.

C... is not meant to be used for this...

I have written a *lot* of C and C++ in my career. I would never suggest these languages as suitable for anything involving finance. Absolutely crazy.

@ariadne can’t wait for the eventual web3isgoingreat.com headline about $20 million in [insert currency] being stolen due to a buffer overflow exploit

@ariadne let's use a general purpose language for a highly specific, well defined, limited set of tasks, what could possibly go wrong?

@ariadne same

I have written a *moderate* amount of C and C++ in my career.  I would never suggest these languages as suitable for anything.  Absolutely crazy.
